Does anyone have any experience with Butrans patches? My doctor just prescribed them for me, but I'd really like to hear about first-hand experiences so I know what I'm getting myself into.

I went to see my doctor yesterday to ask if I could have some different painkillers during my exams, since diclofenac wasn't helping and cocodamol makes me drowsy. She told me something that surprised me - apparently diclofenac and other painkillers work best if taken regularly. I checked the tags for medication and pain relief but didn't see anything posted on this. My rheumy is having me start this on Friday. I had wisdom teeth out ten days ago. One of them turned out to be complicated and required digging a tunnel in my mouth. I am still in bed, running low-grade fever, in pain, have no energy at all, have a constant headache...yet the dentist says it looks like normal healing ( Read more... )

Just wondering if this is "normal". I have become tolerant to mild painkillers like Panadol (US equivalent is Tylenol?) because of a lot of problems I had with stomach pain when I was 14. To cut a long story short I had to start taking Panadiene Forte (not sure what the US equivalent is for that one) for severe pains because Panadol just didn't cut ( Read more... )

I've been on Tramadol since November 2006, and it really isn't working for me much anymore.

Does anyone have any good experience with other painkillers? Any recommendations, or recommendations to avoid?
